Too early to tell how long this will take. We have just received. Yes, it is lightweight and easy to carry. We bought (I chose the style and color) to highlight the gold colors on the throw pillows and bring the gold out of the rug. I love it. Husband said it was not very comfortable on feet/ankles and I have to agree but this item is not for comfort. The chair is not used that often. If a softer material were used, it would not hold its shape and wear out faster. I would not recommend using it as an extra seat for an adult maybe a small child. With more weight, it loses its shape over time.
