Review on 🔧 Enhanced ATP Y-1514 Shift Cable for Manual Transmission by Charles Quinones

I needed a cord for my 90 Pontiac Sunbird (the one that moves when the switch is flicked from side to side). Two cables are listed as suitable for this vehicle, Y 1515 and Y 1514, but nothing indicates which cable is which. I first ordered 1515 and it was too long, then I ordered this cable and it was closer but still too long. I was able to get it working by cutting off one end and welding on the end of the old cable to get it to the correct length. I also had to reuse the ferrules from the old cable as the new ones were too big (id) to stay on the pins. Most auto parts websites do not list cables for this car, only for the turbocharged model, so it is possible that these cables will fit these cars. If you own one of these cars (non-turbo) and your shifter cable is broken, your options are to buy one of these cables and modify it to work, buy the original cable from the dealer (about $180), or buy it to throw away.
