I bought one of these to try on my bulbs. I use 60w incandescent bulbs because LEDs tire my eyes and blue light is the problem. I also set my computer, phone etc to dim at nightfall to reduce LED glare. For this purpose, Windows 10 has a program called Night Light that gives the screen a yellow tint to block out blue light. This dimmer is based on triacs so they don't get hot like rheostat dimmers. I install a dimmer and leave it there. I use a regular lamp switch to turn the lamp on and off. Most lightbulbs will burn out when full current is applied to a cold filament. By reducing this influence (the lamp is dimmed), incandescent lamps last a long time; many years. The first of these switches I ordered worked great so I ordered about a dozen of these and use them around the house. None have failed, but I only use them with 60w incandescent bulbs, well below the 150w max. A nice feature of these switches is the large rotary switch that makes it easy to set the desired dimming level. These switches were exactly what I needed. And the way I use them and the bulbs I think will last a very long time.
