There weren't any reviews for this unit on Revain yet so after a lot of searching I took a chance and bought it. I. I am very happy with it. My house has 2 floors and is right on the lake in the southern United States. Suffice it to say, HOT AND HUMID! Within 2 days of using this device, the humidity in the room has reached the desired level. It's a workhorse! Initially I chose not to connect the hose and use the pump and for the first 2 days of use I constantly (every 6 hours) emptied the water tank. Everything works perfectly! I decided to buy another block in order not to overload this block. In addition, the device is not too loud. The sound is like from a central AC unit. You can hear its low hum. There are a few disadvantages: 1) The unit easily emits warm air ("exhaust air") when removing moisture from the house. The manual says this is normal, but the warm air "competes" with the cold air from the air conditioner. 2) The device does not always stop when the room humidity is lower than the humidity level programmed in the device. Sometimes the engine stops completely; sometimes the motor stops but the fan keeps running (which confuses me because I think the motor is still running); and sometimes the device does not stop at all. So now I have to check it regularly to make sure the motor (not just the fan) is working. I do this by checking if the exhaust is warm. When it's cool, only the fan works (and the device doesn't suck in moisture). Carrying out these regular checks is a challenge! I don't want to babysit the device and I certainly don't want the device to be on all the time because the air would be too dry (remember I said it's a workhorse!). I think my workaround would be to set the device to run a certain number of hours during the day or night rather than relying on an ambient humidity sensor. . I then have to press the humidity level UP or DOWN button to start it.
