A real interior check

Was looking for an all weather floor mat for my 2012 BMW X3 (which for some reason isn't included in the alternatives - only those released in 2011 or earlier. The only other one Option was the equivalent Weathertech kit which sells for $189.MAXpider is very lightweight, it consists of a foamed mid-layer covered in a thin rubber-like material, the mat is just over 1/8" Weathertech whereas has a hard plastic core that's clamped to the surface with a rubber-like material top and bottom, all edges are taped, it looks like it's going to gain strength from its competition bottom layer. There was a little slippage, but not much. Maybe a little getting used to? Weather Front Driving Mat Tech Use System with 2 hooks/L Holes that use the existing Velcro on the bottom to attach the hooks. No on the passenger side. I've seen some complaints about the feel of the protruding hooks, but I can't imagine they would bother me as they are in the back corners of the mat, behind your feet. The fit of the MAXspider was excellent - maybe a little tight. in front of the gas pedal, or maybe you have to stand still? Can't speak for Weathertech. I might end up trying Weathertechs based on durability but I'm not sure. I still see complaints about the material. The MAX spiders felt flimsy out of the box as they are not rigid due to the foam mid-layer. The material doesn't have sealed edges so I'm not sure if it's waterproof, although maybe all layers are waterproof/durable? In the 2 weeks I've owned they seem to have done their job - they took 2 adults on a hike and the rugs survived. Some usual scuffs but nothing major. I will follow and update. One thing is for sure, both manufacturers are expensive!
