Installation was easy with a paper template to place the screws. But it's best described as touchless rather than a motion sensor. It works about as well as touchless faucets in toilets; that is not very good. You practically have to touch (usually multiple times) a small touchpad on one end of the device to turn it on and off. I think it actually works by detecting changes in light levels and doesn't work well in low light. Once you manage to turn it on, it stays lit until you manage to turn it off. There seems to be a minimal reset time; If you turn it off and decide to turn it back on right away, it won't happen. This is not at all like a light bulb with a motion sensor. Very disappointed. I didn't install this before the return deadline so I'll be donating this junk to charity. You will get what you are worth.
