It was very easy to set up and get started. I was excited to try it and was immediately given my foundation brush, which has been my dirtiest brush yet. I followed the instructions and got to work quickly and easily. I was very impressed with how it cleans and how fast it works! Now my foundation brush was VERY dirty. It definitely got cleaner after the first round, but I wanted to see if I could clean it deeper (i.e. not just the ends of the brush). So I did a few more laps; with every lap it got cleaner and cleaner! HOWEVER, I didn't notice that the edge of my hand was barely rubbing on the rubber brush holder, causing the connector to wear out and therefore not staying in the spinner. Luckily they send you two plugs. BUT be careful not to let any part of your hand touch the rotating parts and be very careful not to let your brush move as this will also help destroy the first connector. tried to see how deep it would clean my brush. DO NOT ROTATE YOUR BRUSH BARS ON THE BOTTOM OF THE CONTAINER - I did this (accidentally) and it completely messed up my brush and pulled out the middle bristles. Uhhhh. But they were clean! LOL For the cost I would say it's worth it. I don't know if you can buy additional connectors separately - you'll need more than two if you use these regularly (especially since I messed up one on the first try!). BUT considering the branded version of this system sells for over $40, the quality you get for $17 is good.
