Review on Electric Temperature Stainless Countertop BGS102S by Paul Powell

Not recommended for those who cook regularly

I've written/cooked for a food blog, I have my own recipe site and I cook when I'm happy, sad, scared or angry. My new life situation left me without a stove and oven. I bought this hob based on the reviews, price and the fact that it has 2 burners. Fast forward to finally open it up for use. (I bought it before moving in anticipation of need). The burner controls turn slightly, but they are not entirely clear. There are three dots and numbers 1-5. You have to crank it all the way to heat it up, and it still takes quite a while. However, the problem arises when you need to lower the temperature. I think because it's cast iron it's very difficult to cool down quickly when you need it. (For example, I made a box of Roni pasta and the liquid boiled away too quickly because I had to bring it to a boil and then bring it to a boil, but it never cooled enough to cook.) And if you're someone, he uses big pots and pans, the burners are WAY close together to use them at the same time. So my big problem is the burners themselves. I actually tried to return it and it was the last day I could return it and I had to work so I couldn't return it. I was distracted. The burners themselves are not flat. I have to place a cast iron skillet under one side to keep the large burner flat and ensure the food cooks evenly. It serves its purpose but I am extremely dissatisfied with this purchase and will be looking for something else. PS: If you have curious cats I would recommend finding a safe way to cover them or move them somewhere else. My cats love to climb on my countertops when I'm not cooking and they love getting burned while cooling.
