What I needed but only lasted 1 year

I purchased this exact design (45") on May 16th 2019 to allow my cats to get to their window table. I have several birdhouses on the table. on the other side of the window to our amusement with the cats. Originally her bird watching console table was between the sofa and the window, but when the sofa was gone the table was too high for the old cat, the fat cat and the sick cat . Get cat off the floor. So I had to find stairs. Official pet stairs are mostly just for getting onto the seat of a sofa or bed. So I started looking for something to use as steps or levels and ended up finding a 45 inch model. the tree here, which is basically made up of steps, with the top one being right at the level of its shelf/table. Perfect. This works very well as required steps. The main structure, despite frequent use by three large cats (I think the black one that snuck in through the pet door last winter, was small but weighs 8 1/2 lean) cats pretty well. I didn't find the small bed upstairs very useful, but my old man liked it even though it stuck out over the edges. The toy with balls in the box was not used at all. But the center step post turned out to be a fat old cat's new favorite scratching post (similar to that description itself, so no judgment). And in less than a year, she went through the rope and the cardboard tube to the point where the stability of the entire tree was threatened. I contacted GoPetClub support about purchasing a replacement pole. You get points for a quick reply, and $10 is a reasonable price for the post but with shipping and handling up to $23, or more than half the cost of simply buying a new tree . It's still exactly what I need, which is why I'm here to order another one that supplies replacement parts for everything but that A-pillar. So cats will still have bigger and newer furniture than I do.

Pros
  • Sturdy workmanship
Cons
  • Poorly thought out
