Great set of inexpensive lights

I'm not usually a fan of those cheap panel lights. Because of the combination of features and price, I wanted to venture into this set of two lamps. I'm very glad I did! The first differentiator is the light output. 60 watts is a lot for a budget LED panel that delivers 11,200 lux at 0.5 meters. Not only that, it has a claimed 97 CRI color accuracy. The color range in CCT mode is not very steep at 5600 degrees Kelvin. However, 5600 degrees is the most useful color temperature because it is closest to daylight. It can reproduce quite warm colors up to 3200 Kelvin. RGB mode can reproduce a wide range of colors, deep and rich tones. Like many manufacturers, GVM dispenses with the physical remote control and implements Bluetooth control via an app. Because you don't have to ship a physical remote, you can save on manufacturing costs, but rarely do you see those cost savings translate to the consumer. That being said, the GVM mobile app is actually quite useful. Connecting to lights via the app was very quick, quicker than I've seen with other panels. The app layout made sense and was easy to set up and use with all the lighting features. One feature I'm not used to is the master/slave option. Basically, set one light as the master light and the other as the slave light, and whatever settings you set for the master light, the other secondary light will mimic those settings. The structure of the internals is mostly metal, with the exception of barn doors. Unfortunately it's plastic. I would say that the plastic seems quite thick and blocks light quite well. The included light stands are what you would expect from a budget light set. They're typically $19 or cheaper than cheap flashlight stands. While these aren't great lighting stands, they are strong enough to hold those lightweight light panels and get the job done. To summarize some of the other features, you have 2 power options. Supplied DC power cords or you can power each panel with 2 x NP-F batteries (not included). Make sure you use 2 batteries. A battery does not power the panels. So you only need 4 batteries to power both lightbars. The carrying case was also by far the best case I've seen with a budget light set. This is a kind of combination of soft and hard case. It has a fabric coating but a more rigid structure. This provides good protection when you are out and about with these flashlights. Overall, this might be the best set of cheap RGB LED panels I've come across. Much better than the ones I've seen from companies like Neewer.
