After using this vacuum cleaner I understand why some people are so enthusiastic about Bosch appliances. It seems like a lot of money for a fancy vacuum, but the suction power it offers is unmatched by any other shop vacuum. It's well designed and has a plug so the cleaner turns on with your tool. It also stays on for about 20 seconds after the tool is turned off to completely clear the hose of dust. I've used it with an orbital sander (along with HEPA filter and fleece dust bag) on plastered walls and wall panel joints and it leaves almost no dust on the surface. You have to use sticky tissue to find any. Actually TOO strong and the grinder sucks to the surface so you have to open the suction control port a bit. It also doesn't throw dust into the air. I can't even smell the dust and I'm very sensitive. I preferred to buy this model with automatic filter cleaning because I use it all the time with HEPA filter and the automatic cleaning damages the filter. The semi-automatic cleaning function is activated at the push of a button on the nozzle (when using a paper filter) or can be deactivated completely. The kit does not include vacuum cleaner attachments, so you will need to purchase these separately. It might not be worth it for someone doing small home improvement projects, but if you're a health-conscious professional or just a handyman with a dust allergy, this is a solid investment.
