When I ordered this I was concerned that this product would not compete due to the lower price compared to other highly rated 40+ page punches but decided to save money and ordered Swingline instead of Bostitch. and Carl's models that I looked at. Today it has been used to create a number of instrument and tool manuals for the 3-ring binder, including a 45-sheet manual (90 pages). Cut holes without much effort, so I'm happy with the product. The instruction manual was on not very thick paper. The booklet barely fit in the paper guide, but cut through holes easily, leaving just a hint of a ragged hole at the bottom. If you're using regular printer paper, this will likely be 35 to 40 sheets. I also cut another 20 sheet manual and it cut like butter and was as clean as can be. Hope this helps when comparing more expensive 40 page models.
