For the money, a magnificent full-time zoom, sharp across the entire field from an open aperture, popular even to write laziness about the merits. Iβd rather say about the shortcomings: Distortion at 24 goes off scale, becomes acceptable at 35, and at 50mm again, but already negative distortion in the corners, which becomes more and more when approaching 105. At 105 itβs a bit soft, it starts ringing from 5.6. From experience, I would say that it would be more appropriate to call the lens 24-105 5.6L, this is more consistent with reality, nevertheless, the stabilizer works great, the auto focus speed is lightning fast and accurate. The drawing did not please me for long, until I saw pictures from 24-70 2.8L. If there are extra 10-15 thousand, it is better to overpay in favor of aperture ratio, less distortion and a working 2.8. If you donβt have these 10-15 thousand, then over time itβs easier to buy a fast fix, as you did. Otherwise, the full frame is quite the expected result, which will not let you down in difficult times, and the rest can be corrected in well-known photo editors.
