Carrying 4 bikes on a car rack takes paint and decals just like normal driving - (see photo) I have tried the cheaper lizard skin imitations from Revain but was of material and workmanship disappointed. Now that I have lizard skin stays and fork guards fitted, I can rest assured that my bikes are protected as much as possible. The chainstay protectors have a rubber base that prevents slipping and keeps them in place. They cost more than alternatives but are worth the money, especially if you have expensive bikes. Just pay attention to the size you need.
