This is the worst portable drive I have ever bought. Most discs are plug-and-play - you plug them into your computer, the disc appears on the screen, and you drag and drop files onto the disc. Not this one! You need to install the WD software (which may or may not include unwanted software) and - boom - still can't copy files. No instructions, no click to run, no idea how to copy files. Luckily there is Google and you find that to use the drive for its intended purpose you need to download other software. Once this is installed you will need to change the settings on your Mac to give the program permission (which hopefully won't install malware) and then restart your computer and then restart everything. Very difficult for those who are not IT savvy and probably impossible for the average person. Do yourself a favor and buy a product that comes ready to use (pretty much anything Apple makes). I will never buy a WD product again.
