Before I just poured ground coffee into a two liter jug. Then I would have to strain the coffee. Oh what a pain and a mess. I bought this for my half gallon mason jar and it works great! As another reviewer noted, it works with both Starbucks store-bought coffee (which is meant for brewing, so it's better) and Starbucks store-bought coffee that you grind for iced coffee (so it's coarser). And I love that it comes with a one-piece lid that fits my wide-mouth jar and silicone seals (read the instructions for use). I shouldn't have waited so long to make this purchase!
