Review on ☕️ Presto 02835 MyJo Black Single Cup Coffee Maker: Enjoy Easy and Convenient Brewing by Jim Escobedo

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I didn't want to love it though.

This funny little coffee machine is awesome! My second Keurig keeps failing (yes, I've tried every trick I can think of) and lately I've been using French presses. The main problem is that I still have a lot of K cups. I bought the Prestor on a whim - the price was right and it had pretty good reviews. I love it! You unscrew the base, insert the Ak mug, screw it on, add boiling water (or microwave), put the lid on, place it over the mug and press firmly. Did! I also like the holder that comes with the coffee maker that allows you to add your own coffee. Works much better than the five I bought for my actual machine that got clogged or broken. Several issues were identified in some reviews. Here are my thoughts/solutions: It's hard to pierce a cup: I've never had this problem - I just place a K cup and drop it and it works great. Lid not closing properly - I had this issue but noticed I hadn't pushed the lid down hard enough to seal it. Another quick press and you're good to go. You don't get a full cup of coffee - ? I never got it. I use a strong K mug and a large travel mug. I add water just under the 10 ounce mark and it works great in my travel mug. The company advises against using a larger cup for safety reasons, but I've had no problems. Water is not pushed through: ok, I see. I felt like an idiot when I kept pushing and the water stopped coming through and I spent 5 minutes implementing a simple solution. If you press the two-piece lid and there is still water in the reservoir, you have lost pressure. Just let the top spring back and press again. Yes, it may take 2-3 full clicks, but seriously - it's worth it! Yes, it looks a bit garish and definitely doesn't sit on my desk, but I love this little gadget and my husband loves it. I don't want another big car (right now!). I'm going to try the AeroPress because I've only heard good things about it, but buying both still costs 70% less than replacing my original coffee maker.

Pros
  • I'm looking forward to
Cons
  • Something different
