I bought this to install my new SSD in a 3.5" drive bay. The workmanship is excellent, no sharp corners or edges. All screws and screw holes are M3x 0.5P (3mm metric), the standard screw size for all SSDs. Everything fits (SSD to adapter and adapter to bay for my 3.5" drive). The reason I bought this particular adapter is because it's 2mm thick alu. While my SSD doesn't generate much heat , the aluminum adapter pulls some of the heat away from the drive. And the thicker the aluminum, the more heat it can pull away from the drive. This is a lot more heat than a steel adapter. Note: another review says the material is zinc alloy This is not the case, a zinc part would be much heavier Conclusion: I think this is a well made piece and I would buy another one if the need arose.
