Great mount, can handle two drives if you do it right.

I'm honestly surprised at how much I like this mount. I was actually able to fit a 3.5" drive on top and mount a 2.5" SSD under the plate with countersunk screws. The accompanying equipment is what I needed. Of course, most of the time there are no instructions, but if you can't figure it out, don't build computers. It's well built and sturdy.

Pros
  • Absolutely Amazing!
Cons
  • Quality

It's totally useless to isolate vibration for a 3.5 " drive!

That's pretty sad. Vibration isolation and will work. Only 4 holes! Anyway, the holes on the bottom don't line up with the bottom of the 3.5" drive (so it can't be mounted that way) and there is NO room between the sides and the drive to insert it. Rubber washers Completely missed my intended use and sent back.

Note that the 3.5 " thread is not standard (M3 vs. 6-32)

The good first: It's very well made, it's thick aluminum with good paint or Powder coated finish is good, nothing sharp and it's pretty sturdy, the only downside is that they've decided to use the same M3 thread on the part that you screw into the 3.5" HDD bracket. M3 is typically used for solid state drives and 2.5 inch drives. but if like me you're using a drive holder with the supplied screws/stands, that's a problem as you can't use the aluminum screws ORICO supplies. I was able to…

  • Dope 🔥
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly

When the 4 screw holes align with the 4 holes on the bracket. and the bar is built into a standard case as standard, the back of the drive sticks out very far. In my case, this meant that the hoses from my water cooler would interfere with the installation. I had to move the drive forward and mount it so that the 2 rear holes on the drive lined up with the 2 front holes on the bracket. So the disc is only held by 2 screws. It works, but the design seems strange to me. Ultimately it works. so 3…

Well made 2.5 " to 3.5 " adapter

I bought this to install my new SSD in a 3.5" drive bay. The workmanship is excellent, no sharp corners or edges. All screws and screw holes are M3x 0.5P (3mm metric), the standard screw size for all SSDs. Everything fits (SSD to adapter and adapter to bay for my 3.5" drive). The reason I bought this particular adapter is because it's 2mm thick alu. While my SSD doesn't generate much heat , the aluminum adapter pulls some of the heat away from the drive. And the thicker the aluminum, the more…

Get rid of the optical drive and put some space there!

Fits both my WD Blue 3.5" hard drive and my Crucial MX200 2.5" SSD. No complaints, installation was easy. Came with tons of screws and grommets for assembly. I used the 4 rubber pads that came with my case to mount the hard drive just to keep the noise down. I hope these photos give you a good idea of how they fit into my Fractal Define R4 case. Took tons of photos for those who are interested. I wanted to take out the optical drive and use an external drive so I can fit some mechanical hard…

Works well if you mount a 3.5 " drive with the side screws

You have an old Antec case and wanted an Exos 3.5" drive in one of the Install 5.25-inch drive bays. In this case, the 5.25-inch bays have screws on one side and springs on the other. I first tried attaching the drive to the tray using the bottom holes, but as someone else pointed out, they don't line up. The screw holes on the side of the drive line up exactly with the holes on the sides of the tray. The variety of screws provided was good. I used two to attach the drive to the tray and two…

Perfect for installing a laptop SSD or hard drive in a 5.25 " bay

I don't have a DVD drive in my case but I have 6 hard drives that are all 3.5" occupy shafts. I run my operating system off an SSD and while there are no moving parts and I could easily place it on another hard drive, I wanted to mount my SSD in a location where most people have DVD drives. That's where this mounting adapter comes in. I have the black version. Constructed entirely of fairly thick aluminum and powder coated for long lasting colour, it's durable and well built. It allows you to…

Robust design but mixed results

Advantages: - Fast shipping and delivery - The material is very strong and well formed. Looks very durable. The kit includes many different sizes and lengths of screws that can be useful for a variety of installation needs. Cons: I wish there were a lot more mounting options than there actually were. combined with empty space on a 5.25 inch drive. So the tray has to recline further, which caused installation issues with my chassis. - The rubber feet were unusable due to a lack of attachment…
