Robust design but mixed results

Advantages: - Fast shipping and delivery - The material is very strong and well formed. Looks very durable. The kit includes many different sizes and lengths of screws that can be useful for a variety of installation needs. Cons: I wish there were a lot more mounting options than there actually were. combined with empty space on a 5.25 inch drive. So the tray has to recline further, which caused installation issues with my chassis. - The rubber feet were unusable due to a lack of attachment options. There were no holes at all for the bottom mounting screws. Designed for 3.5 inch SSD. Only the side screws can be used (and the rubber feet are only present if installed from below). I finally managed to install the unit, but my hard drive is secured to the tray with only two screws, which isn't enough (feels loose). . Eventually I'll have to drill more holes or just live with it. Ideally I could use a bottom mounting configuration, but the only holes for this are in the template, which is too narrow for 3.5" drives (probably 2.5"). Since there weren't any, I had to use the side mounting holes, but there was no configuration that would allow me to mount the drive with 4 screws and also allow me to attach the bezel cover for the 5.25" drive bay to my case leave. I spent a lot longer than I expected on this as fixing the tray caused space issues in my case. In the end, the tray was installed in my 5.25" bay, but moved back to preserve the bezel. The hard drive is mounted as far forward as possible so as not to protrude too far in case it interferes with the space of other devices. However, this forced me to make a number of compromises that allowed me to attach the drive with just two screws (one on each side). Although it worked in the end, I expected a little more.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • The list will be long.
