I bought and installed this kit over 2 years ago. It still works perfectly. It works great as a handheld remote for my Hunter fan. I used the timer function and the thermostat function, both work. I don't think I've had to change the batteries in the remote yet, but it uses AAA batteries, it's not hard to find such batteries. I use it in a large room and it works great. I'm pretty sure the remote will work in much larger rooms. I have a Bond Bridge that I use with this ceiling fan. I also highly recommend the Bond Bridge if you want your cell phone or Alexa to be able to control remote ceiling fans. If you want a remote controlled ceiling fan with automatic on and off function, buy one. You will not regret it.
