These are the perfect boots for beginner hikers. They are thin, light, short, easy to put on and take off, and very cute! We get compliments from them all the time. Most wellies are too high and bulky for toddlers who are still learning to walk. I would say I wouldn't recommend for 2 or more just because they are so short. Again this is a plus for my 15 month old who has difficulty walking in other tall and cumbersome wellies but due to their height water can seep in through the top much more easily than in larger boots. They are waterproof. The only water that gets in is water from above. We love splashing in puddles so it happens quite often. If we only walk on wet or water, the inside of the boots stays dry. Once it's better balanced we'll probably buy another pair that sit closer to the knees, but these are the perfect first pair of wellies!
