For the first run mine were a little sticky on the orange part but I wasn't sure if that was due to age or material deterioration BUT after ordering an extra set directly from Celestron . I had the same problem and many of my friends with telescopes said the same thing. So maybe that's okay. Regardless, they cleaned up my browsing and picture. I usually stand on a concrete base, but the vibrations from the frantic movement of the scope causes a bit of judder (very little), but after I put these pads under my feet. This problem quickly disappeared. I'm not one to write shock pad reviews, but they actually got me out of the tremors and it was a good investment. Overall very happy with the purchase but they are a bit pricey. Don't waste your time with counterfeit brands. You get what you pay for.
