Works very well with my SkyWatcher mount and 8 " SCT

These pads make the telescope noticeably more stable and the tripod easier to align on grass/ground as the pads spread the weight of each foot over a wider Territory. The cushioning is quite effective. Definitely worth the price. My only gripe is that they aren't perfectly finished - they don't look as pretty in real life as they do in the photos. The orange cushioning material sticks out and sticks out a bit There is no difference in how they work.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel

  • Unreliable

Incredibly amazing set of hockey pucks that WORK

I read all the reviews on these pads and thought these pads might not work as advertised. However, it seemed like a good idea to insulate my telescope's legs from the gravel pad it used to sit on, so I ordered a kit. The results were significant and amazing. Now I can get 10 or 15 second exposures through my scope with little or no wobble in my shots. The attenuation makes deep sky objects particularly sharp and images of the moon extremely sharp. For the $30-$40 price range, this is a…

Definitely a MUST HAVE

For the first run mine was a little sticky on the orange part but I wasn't sure if it was due to age or deterioration of materials BUT after buying a second set right at Celestron I had the same problem, and many of my friends with telescopes have said the same thing. So maybe that's okay. Regardless, they cleaned up my browsing and picture. I usually stand on a concrete base, but the vibrations from the frantic movement of the scope causes a bit of judder (very little), but after I put these…

I am very skeptical of useless accessories or at least items that bring very little profit. Spring. These things work. really good. My scope is mounted on a Celestron CGEM DX and I know full well how unstable this mount is. I know how much and how long the image shakes based on what eyepiece I'm using, what slew rate I'm using, and how hard I'm hitting the eyepiece in normal viewing with that particular mount. First night of use and I couldn't believe how well these things absorb vibration from

Finally fixed the shaking!

I have a Celestron 130 SLT telescope and have recently tried my hand at astrophotography. The mount is slightly lighter, so even a light gust of wind can shake it. I used these suppression pads last night and was blown away by their effectiveness. Now they won't do much about the vibrations caused by adjusting the focus knob, but the wind vibrations have been largely eliminated! They resemble a thin hockey puck but are lighter. The orange ring is a very soft material. Expensive but these pads…

These things are big and durable in hand. .

These big things are comfortable to hold. And they magically reduce vibrations significantly for my somewhat flimsy 3-piece camera tripod leg + gear head + C6 mount. At 300x magnification, prior to installing these pads, my building appears to be vibrating and the image is vibrating at high frequency very frequently. After adding these pads, the vibrations caused by the floor will be greatly reduced! And the vibration settling time from touching the tripod/focuser seems to decay twice as fast…
