I am very skeptical of useless accessories or at least items that bring very little profit. Spring. These things work. really good. My scope is mounted on a Celestron CGEM DX and I know full well how unstable this mount is. I know how much and how long the image shakes based on what eyepiece I'm using, what slew rate I'm using, and how hard I'm hitting the eyepiece in normal viewing with that particular mount. First night of use and I couldn't believe how well these things absorb vibration from assembly manipulation. It literally felt like I upgraded the mounts. The concrete slab my telescope sits on is rock solid and doesn't suffer from vibration even if you start jumping. I bought these mostly to keep my tripod legs from wearing out, but these things keep the vibrations from bouncing back and forth when rotating the telescope. , viewing and photographing. I rarely praise a product as I usually have high expectations but for forty bucks it's worth it.
