Impressive cleanliness is best in brushes

I was really hesitant to buy after reading reviews of parts coming loose in the flue tube and how difficult it is to take apart. After a professional cleaning*, my smoke alarm went off after a few weeks. I took the chimney off the stove and looked up. What I found was a creosote build-up tube. I tried calling another professional cleaner but they were all busy until mid-February. Now I have an aframe and I am not going to climb the stairs and try to clean top to bottom after reading the reviews* I figured this product would be bottom to top. The angle of entry through the chimney from inside the stove isn't exactly 90 degrees, but it's a tricky starting angle and then a straight path up to the ceiling in the attic where there are two smaller angles to get up the roof, overall 16 feet. I should have photographed the amount of creosote that spilled, but it was shocking. Considering it had just been cleaned by a professional I decided to remove the chimney and afterwards see I could still see some creosote on the black stovepipe. , but couldn't really see the tip because of the bends in the tube and it was starting to get dark, but could see some light. The next day I decided to try again to get some of the remaining material by climbing straight down the chimney instead of the furnace. Removed the chimney and slipped the rod through the plastic bag and attached the rotary cleaner and then attached the bag to the pipe with a rubber band to collect dirt. Almost nothing came loose at first, but I realized how much easier cleaning was this way, and no problems with kinks this time. I knew I wasn't upstairs as I only had 5 sticks attached and the cleaner got stuck in a clog, a little nudge and suddenly all the creosote collapsed filling 1/4 of the plastic bag. After that I looked at the pipe and saw good daylight and a fairly clean pipe. I took the part of the black chimney that I had removed from the outside and cleaned it up a bit more and then reattached the pipe. I lit the stove and what's the difference, I really wonder what the pro did. Thank you for the fire alarm alerting me to the problem and averting a potential disaster. Thanks to this product I was able to clean my chimney and use the stove again without problems with the rods breaking and it was fairly easy to attach and remove the rods. I would definitely use it the same as the second time because it was easier to use without having to start with that first bend. Great product, highly recommend if you want to keep your chimney clean without having to go to the roof.
