Review on ANGGOER Bike Repair Stand Quick Release: Adjustable, Portable & Sturdy Maintenance Rack for Road & Mountain Bikes - 85 lbs Capacity by Mikey Jackson

Ideal for hobbyists

Have wanted a bike repair stand for a long time. I've never liked keeping the rear wheel off the ground, turning the crank to adjust the derailleur, or hiring an assistant (usually reluctantly) for the job. This Anggoer stand is an affordable, portable solution that's fine for a hobbyist like me. I own an inexpensive mountain bike, I have three grandchildren who need bike adjustments from time to time, and my son just bought some bikes for himself and his partner. I appreciate that it is quick to set up and I can take it with me when needed. The included bike keychain (see picture) was good too. There are a lot of plastic parts and the mechanism to hold the bike is not the best. You have to loosen it a lot to get the seat tube in and then tighten it again to get the bike firmly onto the stand. A quick release/attachment mechanism would be a welcome improvement. I like that it is height adjustable. If you are a pro, this stand is not for you. If you are a hobbyist and take care of it, it will last a long time. BENEFITS - Elegant keychain - Aluminum construction of legs and holder is strong yet lightweight. - The wide construction of the tripod makes it stable - The tool holder sits on the tripod. Fur is fine, but don't put anything very heavy on it. But for holding light tools it is good. - Sturdy tripod legs and center post. - Height adjustment. - Tripod legs with quick release and height adjustment. - Held my 32# bike perfectly. Not sure if this actually works with an 85# bike. I wouldn't try. - Came with spare tripod leg ends and center column top cap - a nice touch. CONS - No storage space for included hex keys - Plastic mounting points do not stand up to abuse. Be careful and you'll be fine, but don't expect to have much trouble with him. I wish it had a quick release mechanism to attach the bike. The plastic tool tray is light and not very stable. Overall recommended for hobbyists looking for a convenient, portable way to work on bikes when needed.
