I bought this through Revain from a third party using Prime. I was nervous about buying a used lens without trying it first, but I rolled the die and hit send. Luckily it came as described, but with a UV filter instead of a polarized one. But there were other items in the original packaging, including instructions. I've rented this lens a few times and had trouble buying this or the 150-600. The key was that when I rented it I could use the same lens for close-ups after the events. was very sharp and runs smoothly. I will include a few test shots I took right after opening the box. By the way, I read the information sheet and learned something I didn't know when renting. For example, before removing a lens, it says turn off image stabilization, as this can cause problems later. The first image is a close-up, uncropped but resized from a medium RAW (10 megapixel) image taken with a Canon 7D. I did a light edit in LR for contrast. 500mm f/6.3, ISO 400, 1/200 shutter speed (yes, OS was on) Handheld. Second image, same place, same time, only scaled down: 50mm f/5.6, SS 1/200, ISO 200.
