I bought this dongle to use with my MacBook Air and also for my new iPad Pro as I use a lot of SD cards with my camera and prefer a direct way to edit photos instead of transferring them from one device to another. The packaging was quite basic and showed the item contained. The dongle has a USB port, an SD card and a micro SD card port. I connected it to my MacBook Air and it recognized my SD card straight away so there was no problem. When I plugged it into my new iPad Pro keyboard connector (left - see photo), it didn't recognize it at all, so I plugged it directly into the iPad's USB-C port. At the same time, the indicator on the button itself lit up. However, when I insert my SD card, the Files app doesn't read it at all and doesn't recognize that anything is inserted. I thought maybe the iPad Pro doesn't support this, but I was able to get a different model SD card. a reader that also connects via USB-C and as you can see in the video as soon as you connect it (even without an SD card) a blue light appears in the right corner of the iPad telling it that it is it recognizes . adapter is connected. When I used this alternate key and inserted the SD card, it immediately picked up in the Files app with no issues. For this reason I docked 1 star. Please see my video for a full demonstration of what I mean. All in all, if you're looking for a dongle that works with your MacBook or a computer that only offers a USB-C port, then this one will definitely fit the bill. However, if you're looking for something for your iPad Pro, this doesn't work.
