UPDATE: Approximately 6 months, block is defective. Once activated, it rings continuously until I turn off the device. I was hoping it would just need an oil change, but that didn't fix the problem. Do not recommend this product under any circumstances. In terms of features and performance as intended, this device is fine. I wanted an alert outside when someone approached my door. I usually work in the back room and don't always hear someone knocking. So many other devices have a 20+ foot range and for me this picks up traffic off the sidewalk and/or the street. The main downside is the description. To me, "outdoor motion sensor" means it can be used outdoors. Well, the instructions for the sensor clearly state that it is for indoor use only. I complained to the seller and they offered to put it under some sort of cover. Turns out I was going to use it in my shed so seems fine. I live in Florida so I'm not sure what will happen when I encounter one of the heavy downpours blowing in all directions. Another thing is that it worked several times without any obvious reasons that should have provoked it. And of course it was always at night. I have security cameras and made sure there was nothing in the area at the time of the explosion. Now I just turn off the device when I go to bed. I just think the seller should change the description or at least make a caveat in the details that it's not really weatherproof and needs to be under some kind of cover.
