In every respect this preamp is a great achievement. At $210, it's almost a miracle. I use it with a good 120 watts per channel solid state amplifier. The soundstage is wide, deep and very detailed. The timbre of the voices and instruments is very reminiscent of the live sound. I have seen many famous singers live including Kathleen Battle, Renee Fleming, Kurt Moll, Diana Krall, Placido Domingo and many more in 15-20 years as a subscriber to the Met in New York and at concerts elsewhere and this device transmits very accurate information . representation of their voices. Tools or clarinets sound as if they were made of wood. This is all quite surprising as the gain is a solid - quite amazing actually. So highly recommended.
