Review on ILoveSIA Womens Quilted Padded Thicken by Julia Lewis

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Decent cheap coat - no size up

I needed a reasonably priced coat for outdoor work and activities that would get it dirty like carrying firewood, shoveling snow, hanging around the campfire etc. I think it's perfect for something. Haven't put the wood in yet so can't say how well it will hold up (I'll edit this review if/when the seams on the sleeves unravel). But the coat is warm and not ugly! Always a plus. One thing I would recommend is NOT to increase the size as some of the older reviews suggest. Take your normal size or if you're on the border between two sizes, go down one size. I think the company resized them to better fit winter layers. I usually wear a large size and wasn't sure if I should go for a 10 or a 12. I took a 10 and I'm glad I did - it's VERY roomy. I could wear lots of thick layers under this coat if I wanted to. Most of the time I'll probably just throw it over what I wear at home, put on my boots and do whatever I need to, without layers. I could probably go for an 8 to be honest, but since it's just a work coat I don't care about the extra bulk. Another point - you obviously get what you pay for. It doesn't compare to a very nice down parka or a thin, padded coat from a major winter clothing brand. I have several good coats and they are feather light, the clasps are perfect, they are comfortable in freezing temperatures, etc. This coat is cheap fitting, much heavier than all my good winter coats put together and it probably won. It's not my first choice when stuck in a blizzard. But that's not a problem unless you expect top-notch quality at this price point.

Pros
  • Lots of positive vibes
Cons
  • No performance
