Overall I like the speaker but compared to my last one which I could literally throw in a lake and let it swim next to me and project music on either side of the lake, this speaker is a bit disappointing. The normal setting is slightly quieter, and the boosted Outdoor setting is only slightly better. Honestly, the whole "outdoor" setup is pointless when you can just turn the volume down to whatever level you want and still get a better sound. For private use when hiking or biking it's fine, but when I'm playing volleyball with friends or at a festival we all want to use other people's louder speakers. I would NOT call this speaker "waterproof". Waterproof? Definitive. The plug cover on one side is a simple rubber stopper that just springs in a bit, but I'm pretty sure it won't hold water if I throw it in a lake. I don't even want to try that. If you want something that will serve you really well in all scenarios, I would honestly only suggest looking for something else. I Agree. They were very accommodating and responded quickly, but that doesn't change my original rating.
