I am very happy with this and wanted to help others decide if it would be a good fit for their installation. These cables are separate and you can unplug them to further separate them. I used this for a computer sound card with two studio monitors. I had to make sure they weren't limited by how far apart you could place them. All you have to do is disconnect them and the dual cable will permanently disconnect all the way down to the 1/8th connector if needed. I only needed a meter of clearance, but this cable was able to accommodate a lot more. Speakers two meters apart? No problem.
