*UPDATED REVIEW* After using the grinder for a few weeks and initially liking it a lot, my opinion of it changed dramatically. The dial, which controls the grind (and also acts as the nut holding the shaft, spring and burrs together) keeps slipping when it's near the coarsest settings. It's a constant struggle to find the balance between tight enough so it won't slip during the grind and loose enough so my coffee doesn't get too small for my French Press. Even if I manage to get a full cut without the thing falling apart, the consistency of the cut isn't very good. There are large and small pieces mixed with lots of fine powder. In the attached photos I ground up about 25g of the beans and then used a sieve to sift through the very fine powder just to show how much it produces. This is significantly more than the sub-$30 aluminum-bodied ceramic grinders you can buy. Sand off the roughness. I could swear things were pretty tight at first, but now that it's spinning it definitely wobbles a bit, which leads me to believe it's only going to get worse over time. The build, feel and look of the grinder is impressive at first, but with a serious issue like burrs falling out during grinding, it's hard to recommend this to anyone. First I wanted to say that I don't recommend it for people who like coarse grinds, but I have doubts that the grind setting will stay in place at any setting, and even for those who want it hard. to espresso, you eventually find that the nut gradually loosens over time. Unfortunately I will be returning mine and will probably spend even more money on a better grinder with more reliable grind settings.
