Necessary Water Softener Surge Protector
The water softener transformer had previously been blown by a power surge (and had to be replaced by the softening company who thankfully replaced it free of charge) as (probably) and printed circuit board on the previous softener. This protector is a quality item and protects well. Probably every PCB element needs a surge protector.
