Review on ⚡ Duracell Fastest Value Charger Kit with 4 AA Batteries (CEF14DX) - Optimal for Quick Charging by George Thorson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Review one year later: Smart, economical and efficient. UPDATE Four years later:

I'm writing this review after owning these batteries for over a year while they were on sale. They are most commonly used in our Wii remote controls and are excellent for this purpose. My kids were burning batteries like crazy, and I was upset that I had to keep buying (and throwing away) AA batteries. We now keep spinning these batteries for every application that burns AA batteries and the money savings are huge! The charger takes around 6-8 hours to fully charge (slightly longer for the first charge) and has colored lights to let you know if the batteries are charging (red), charging (green) or charging (flashing red). The charger we received is a 'smart' charger that will not overcharge or damage batteries if left connected for too long. Plus, the trickle charge feature keeps your batteries fresh and fully charged until they're ready to go. The reviewer who claimed the charger was "stupid" wrote his review in 2008 and based on the charger I received I can only speculate. that Duracell has updated their charger and fixed this issue in recent years. Overall, these batteries are economical and practical. After at least forty uses and charges over the past year, these batteries still perform like new. UPDATE 7/2017: These AA batteries still work well but charge less reliably, holding less charge. However, we still use them and they've certainly paid off over replacement batteries. Four years later it was still a worthwhile purchase and the charger still works as it should. It doubles since we also bought some AAA batteries.

Pros
  • The simple and efficient Value Charger can charge four AA or AAA batteries at the same time. Foldable plug offers ease of use and convenient storage, saving you money
Cons
  • Ugly packaging
