I bought this for various recording purposes (singing, podcast etc) and I use Audacity for editing on a Dell Optiplex 360 running Windows 10. I have an old PC with a Audio jack on the front so there's no ringing or other weird noises (and I'll take another old PC model just for this feature - the more connections you make between two devices, the more the sound quality degrades). The mic definitely picks up some amount of background noise (including my breathing, but honestly I just need to either support it or work on my breath control), but I was able to work that out easily. Whether singing or speaking, the sound quality was consistent. I can get up to serious volume while singing so I can come back and edit it later if I notice problems. The whole setup was solid, but it took me a bit of fiddling before I was happy with the setup. I have a feeling that a screw mount for a pop filter would be better than a clip and the place it attaches to the base isn't particularly secure (a little twisting fixes it and I can take the E6000 with me). It took me a minute to figure out how to detach the mount needed for the arm (for the mic holder and stabilizer). I felt like it was torn off, but it wasn't particularly obvious or noticeable, and I found it relatively easy having about a hundred tools. All that has been said is just a minor criticism and I am very pleased with the overall quality of this item for the price. Will an expensive setup sound better? Yes, family, probably. But for anyone here on a budget, it couldn't be better.
