Very Useful Ink Stone for Chinese Calligraphy
I bought one of these a year ago in Xi'an, along with a fancy turtle-shaped ink stone. Well this, despite being an ugly duckling, is my favorite of all the ones I've used. It has a "deep end" where you pour some ink (I use liquid ink). When you apply ink to the brush, the long, flat part is used to control the amount of ink and shape the tip.
- The dense stone makes the ink smooth and delicate.
