Review on πŸ” CIPA 11300 Custom Towing Mirror for Toyota - Pair by Kenneth Bryan

Revainrating 4 out of 5

They did their job but the products are not perfect

Once upon a time these mirrors stayed tight and in place for 14 hours with no problems. The mirrors are finely adjusted, but that's a good thing because they don't wobble around much when driving on the road. Some towing mirrors vibrate while driving, and that can be pretty annoying after a while. Each mirror consists of 4 parts. The mirror itself, a wedge shaped bar that holds the mirror in place and a screw that holds the wedge down so the mirror doesn't move when riding on the road. There is also a felt tip pen for the stretcher bar so it doesn't rub against the mirror. I had 2 issues with the design. one mirror, but the other mirror had such resistance when turning that I thought I would break the turning handle. Applied with a small amount of WD40 after several slow tries, it finally sunk in completely. After a few installs, the screw loosened a bit and now everything seems fine. 2) The felt strip of the wedge needs to be trimmed so it doesn't cut. to fit out of the box. Although this is a small thing, it's still a kind of pain. Another problem is that the wedge comes loose when the mirrors are not in use. So if you are not careful you can lose the wedge and the mirror would be useless. The bolts hold up great from friction, but I don't like loose parts hanging off of something like that because it never happens that one of them gets lost at some point and probably happens down the road. Generally these mirrors work well, I just wish they were designed a little differently.
