These sandals are lightweight, especially when compared to other closed toe sandals which have a heavy and inflexible rubber bottom which makes my son look like he needs to walk in flippers. My son is 18 months old and has chubby feet (bulky toes) which can make it difficult to find shoes that fit his foot. They come on easily and he seems to find them very comfortable. They are airy and ideal for hot summer days, which can be worn like sandals but protect the foot from sticks and stones getting caught in the shoe. The bonus is that he can also wear them for swimming/water.
