I learned a hard lesson recently. Across the street from my house, a power transformer exploded. The wave destroyed two TVs, two surge protectors, a cable box, and a Roku box. The Belkin surge protector failed to stop the surge. Anything that was powered on and connected to that surge protector blew up. UPC's surge protector stopped the surge. However, that surge protector is now garbage. After recovering from the shock of having to spend over $1,000 to replace my hardware, I decided to do some research. One of the many things I've learned is that surge protectors wear out over time and need to be replaced. Of course. I will be replacing all surge protectors in my house and a few at work! This is the surge protector I chose for my TVs. Reasons: 1. There are two lamps. It is said that the outlet is properly grounded. The other indicates whether the network filter is working properly. When a lightbulb goes out, I know it's time to replace it - BEFORE another power surge knocks out my $1,000+ electronics! It is protected against surges that can occur over coaxial cable (cable TV).3. A standard set - many sockets, a sufficiently long cable, an angled plug, etc.4. It also has RJ45 network ports. So I will most likely buy one for my office computer. RJ11 jacks too (telephone/fax line) - but I didn't care.5. It has a power rating of 3240 J. The more joules. All the more protection! 6. It contains everything you need, e.g. B. additional cables. You can connect an existing cable or network port to the surge protector and take advantage of the additional options to move from the surge protector to your devices without having to buy anything else.7. Based on my research, I feel confident that this surge protector will provide adequate protection for my electronic devices. I hope that by sharing this you won't learn the same lesson I should have learned. Highly recommended!
