I use these to make straps for myself that come loose when I pull on them (medical staff). I've only had them for about a month, but each time they come loose without much tension and don't break. Even if I pull them hard to loosen them, they always snap back into place with the same force. I'm happy with the amount of pull it takes to pull (not too hard, a kid could do it, but not too light that it easily comes off) and the amount of weight it can support (my big cable Doesn't come unbound unless I want to.)
