This frame is strong! Hardware and welds seem solid! I bought this for my son who is 6ft 4" and 260lbs. I've had it for about a week now and so far so good. Not only does the frame support its weight, but it also supports another 70 pounds of plush Savile Row mattress (which is also great quality!) I was a bit skeptical before ordering due to what another reviewer said about the cracking of the slats said. I don't believe them. They're solid wood, but as long as you don't use the bed as a wrestling ring, I think they'll last a long time. They are 3¼" (length/width, depending on how you look at it) and ½" thick. They are somewhat flexible but probably won't break as badly as all the weight. I've seen some websites that say the slats should be no more than 2-3 inches apart and some others 3-4. These slats are 4 inches apart and I can confirm they appear to support the mattress. no problem. Also, I think I can always make more boards when it comes to that, but I don't think it will. Worst case you can always put a bunk bed frame and mattress, but as I said it seems to support the mattress well. Instructions. I feel like they should be labeled as part of the actual frame. It took me a few minutes to study the screws and the diagram to make sure I placed the long and short screws where they should be. Also, the foam leg pads just don't fit in my opinion. I was only able to install them on the center support legs. It would be nice to have foam that slides over my feet without tearing it, but I'll try not to hurt my toes. All in all I would recommend this frame. If anything changes, I will revise my review. It's easy to assemble, very durable, quiet as a mouse and still great value for money! With this mattress you don't need box spring beds; in fact the bed would be too high for most. At 14 inches plus the height of your mattress, that's enough. 11¾" storage bins clear the frame. I've bought several full metal frames that have failed. This one seems to last forever despite the wooden beams.
