I was looking for a new sound machine with some kind of ambient light function. Saw this while scrolling daily and decided to give it a try. I am happy satisfied with the purchase. I didn't initially buy this for myself - I wanted my kids to get a more grown up sound machine rather than the kids/babies they already have. They don't need a sound machine to fall asleep, but they do enjoy falling asleep with background noise from time to time. I also wanted to see if ambient lights of different colors would help them fall asleep faster and more peacefully. This tone/generator comes in a box and contains the tone machine, charging cable and power supply. The charging cable is not standard, it looks like a Swiffer (a thin tube with a small hole in it) and there is a USB connector on the other side. I like being able to use this via USB or an AC adapter. Unfortunately, this machine isn't rechargeable, but it does have a decently long power cord. The top has a row of buttons for power, forward/backward playback, light on/off, volume up/down, and a timer function button. I didn't read the instructions that came with it - instead I just went for it and started pushing the buttons because that's what I usually do and I can usually figure it out on my own. This worked for everything except changing the light. I couldn't figure out how to change the color of the light and I figured it was related to that option so I went to the product page for instructions (which I found, yay). You change the lighting by muting the sound (power button), turning on the lighting option (lighting button), and then long-pressing the track forward/back button to see all the lighting options. Once you've selected the backlight color you want, you can press the power button to turn the sound back on, and the forward/backward buttons change the song with a normal button press. I went through all the sounds and there were 30 of them. Surprised the bird sounded so good. Even the cat came over to check it out. My favorite seems to be #30 (I assume the song order is the same across all these sound machines), which is like the steady sound of a meditative piano chord. It's like the part of the movie where there's some kind of realization or big change (IYKYK). The sound machine itself is very light. In fact, I'd say it's very light - it seems to me that it weighs less than my phone. It's so light that it's easy to move or travel with from room to room. He's not too big either. I'd say it's about the size of a large pancake and thick like a donut (I know my descriptions are awesome). Overall I am satisfied with this purchase. At this price point ($26.99 as of April 14, 2022) this machine has plenty of lighting and sound options. A note on the sound - it sounds dull. That's not bad, but I thought maybe people should know beforehand. Sounds like the manufacturer wanted an artificial bass or something? Idk is the best I can describe, it's a bit muted.
