Reliable and easy to use, but has flaws

Not what I expected from Amcrest. I have other security cameras from them and when I saw this one I thought it was great quality and security. Pros: - Uses proprietary Wi-Fi network which provides security and range - Good picture quality - VOX - Great feature - Stable connection (mostly) - Long lasting battery in phone. I get about 2 days if I use it at night. Made of plastic but doesn't feel fragile. The camera's night light is not too bright or too dark. Very annoying at night (ribbon and markers fixed it) - unstable video and voice connection - buttons arranged very strangely - buttons do not light up making it difficult to use at night - comes with a built-in pacifier ( noises). Very low quality and makes it impossible to use VOX while gaming - unconfirmed but temp seems off - phone charges via barrel connector. I wish it was Micro-USB or USB-C. Miscellaneous: As mentioned above, I noticed that the audio cuts out quite often when the monitor is showing video and loud audio. This is common and was almost a deal breaker until I saw the prices for other monitors. Handling the phone took a little getting used to. They have a rubbery click feel and are difficult to use at night as they don't glow. The menu is pretty weird to navigate, but it's very simple. I didn't have much trouble with the signal going through my house. From time to time the handset loses signal to the camera completely, but after a few seconds it reappears. I think it has to do with my wireless router and interference, but can't test that theory. All in all I would buy it again for the price but it definitely needs improvement.
