The possibilities and vivid colors of these lamps are amazing. It's so cool how these lights change color from one color to another. I've never seen lights like this before and I'm impressed! Basically they can be almost any color you want and have any type of flash/blink/fade you want. They can also blink and blink to the beat of the music you're playing nearby, and you can even dim and brighten them to match the mood you want. I've included a video to show some of the possibilities of this lightweight thread and you can also see how gorgeous and deep the colors are. In the video, I change the colors and patterns of the lanterns using the button on the lantern's power supply and the remote control. A button on the power box lets you cycle through a decent number of colors and flashing options, and there are even more options and color combinations available on the remote. You can also use the phone app for many color and flash options. The bulbs are large, comparable to old-fashioned C9 bulbs. The bulbs are plastic but feel solid. They are definitely stronger than the old C9 glass bulbs. I also like that they are LEDs so they don't get hot like the old incandescent bulbs. The lights are also waterproof, which is nice if you're using them outside in bad weather (note that the power adapter next to the plug isn't waterproof, so be careful with that if you're using it in bad weather). All in all, these lights are great. We will be using them year round, red and green in December, red/white/blue in June and July, orange for our local high school soccer team, warm white for our dinner party, pink and light blue baby showers, etc. I'm sure we will my college-age kids like to use these when their friends come over to create a rave-type vibe with the lights flashing to the beat of the music.
