My older poodle would start barking when he was excited, so every time he got in the car. I bought these earplugs hoping they would seriously protect me from deafness. I wear them with my head and over my ears and a hoodie over that. I can still hear my 98 year old mother yelling at me from the back seat and my dog barking too loud in the car. They PROTECTED me from more hearing damage than I already had; but the barking of my dogs still echoes in my ears. I still hear everything my mother whispers in a faint voice. As such, they offer some protection, but not much.
