Just buy these and have them ready the next time you get a splinter and win. You will not regret it. If you're used to removing a splinter with bathroom tweezers (basically useless) or a sanitized sewing needle (barbarism) or some other equally painful method, then using these tweezers will be like getting the gift of fire received from Prometheus himself. When I used them, these tweezers pulled a 3/8" splinter (in one piece) from under my nail on my very first attempt at grabbing a splinter. I was surprised it came out because I'm so used to horrible tweezers that don't grip at all. They are also made in the USA which is a huge plus. Tl;dr: Just buy these
