We bought it to replace our remote control which was also a spare. This remote worked right away. About an hour before the included batteries died. Okay, okay, I'll put in some decent batteries. Enter the code 001 and you're done; the remote control worked perfectly. The next day I turned on the TV, nothing worked. Excellent. I enter 001 and everything will be fine. That does not work. Finally earned with Code 004. We've had this remote control for three days now and we had to "repair" it three times. It works once you program it, but I'm not going to program my remote every day! Luckily we kept our old spare remote; The only reason we replaced it was because the channel buttons only move in one direction, up. I'll go back and try to find a genuine Sony replacement.
